“Volunteering at Hope for You has been an incredible experience — not only have
I been able to help others, but I’ve also made meaningful friendships. My family
and friends have always supported me when I needed them, and in return I give
back by serving the community. Knowing that Hope for You helps put food on the
tables of families in need is an honor, and I’m proud to say I was one of those who
worked hard during the food distribution.”

My name is Lynn Hughes, I live in Greenville, Texas, but I was born and raised in
the Philippines and each month, I have the privilege of volunteering at Hope For
You Center during their monthly food distribution. Every time I arrive, I am
reminded of the meaningful difference we can make by serving others in Christ’s
name. From organizing and wrapping food donations from the North Texas Food
Bank to handing food to families, each moment is an opportunity to share God’s
love in action.
I also make it a point to share the food distribution flyers every time I receive
them, helping spread the word so more people in our community can benefit from
this ministry. It’s amazing to see how a small effort like sharing information can
connect more families with the help they need.
What touches me most is seeing the gratitude and hope in the eyes of those we
serve. It’s a humbling experience that reminds me that even small acts of kindness
can make a big difference. Volunteering here has strengthened my faith and
deepened my understanding of what it means to serve others selflessly.
I encourage everyone to find ways to serve in their community. Whether through
food distributions, donations, or simply offering a listening ear, we can all be
vessels of God’s love. I am grateful to be part of this mission and to witness

firsthand the joy that giving brings… not just to those receiving, but also to those
giving.

To God be all the glory, honor, and praises through my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
